Following the release of 2011’s critically acclaimed mini-album ‘Portraits’, Max Raptor took their socially aware, modern slice of visceral punk rock out on the road and gradually evolved into the vital, incendiary band who are wrapping up recordings for their full length debut as we speak.
The first release from album ‘Mothers Ruin’, which will be released in early Autumn, comes straight out of the blocks with a rush of adrenaline and continues to take the bands bone shaking, anthemic musical assault to new levels. ‘Breakers’, with its driving, heavy riffs and impassioned vocal attitude, is already taking Max Raptor’s caché way beyond anything they’d done previously. Produced by Dan Weller, who’s recent credits include quality recordings by Gallows, Enter Shikari, Young Guns and Kids In Glass Houses, ‘Breakers’ was recorded at Lincolnshire’s Chapel Studios, where the band have been working on ‘Mothers Ruin’.

With two new members since the first release, Max Raptor are a band hitting a rich vein of thought provoking, intelligently powerful songwriting. With songs ranging from the power of the press, to class wars and the Arab spring, ‘Breakers’ is the ‘headline’ to the inside stories on ‘Mothers Ruin’. “Breakers is a song about being bombarded by the headlines that mire our everyday lives” explains lead singer Wil Ray. “It’s our rolling news song. It picks up on the snippets that we hear, read or are told about throughout the year. It’s about the way they these stories break down our natural instinct and how, with the pace of modern life, we only have time to see one side of the coin which in turn can mist our judgement”.
With some big tour dates looming to complement the release of ‘Breakers’, Max Raptor will be putting the finishing touches to what promises to be an incredible debut album. ‘Mothers Ruin’ will see an Autumn release, with Max Raptor set to unleash a quarry full of searing new songs and old favourites at live shows throughout the rest of 2013 and well into 2014.
